Price List By Material Thickness
Understanding Thickness for your Space
15mm: A heavy-duty, structural choice that emphasizes the layered plies of the wood, ideal for larger-scale “Master Series” installations.
3mm: Best for lightweight DIY mounting or for those who wish to frame the panels behind glass.
8mm: A sleek, minimal profile that sits close to the wall with a refined shadow line.
12mm (Signature): The depth used for the original Plywood Study series, offering a perfect balance of stability and architectural presence.
Framing Price List
Our frames are slim, professional gallery profiles designed to ground the vibrant palettes of designs like Inner Hold and Lumi in organic warmth.
Framing Specifications
- Material: Natural Oak-tone wood, hand-selected to blend with the golden hues of the plywood.
- Profile: Slim gallery face (approx. 1.5 cm) to preserve the Still Axis of the composition.
- Mounting: Works are floated or edge-to-edge mounted to ensure the 12mm or 15mm ply layers remain visible from the side.
- Protection: Optional museum-grade acrylic is available for the 3mm panels to prevent UV fading of the pigments.
Why Frame?
While the 12mm and 15mm panels are designed to stand alone as structural objects, the Gallery Frame adds a layer of refinement that transitions the piece from an industrial study to a high-end art installation. It provides a clean boundary for the Radiating Geometry of pieces like Resting Centre.
Material Guide
At the core of the Art Beyond Canvas Wood Light Form Plywood Modular series is the material itself architectural-grade plywood. Far from being a mere substrate, the wood’s layered composition and visible grain are active participants in every design.
One of the most striking features of this work is the exposed edge profile. Plywood is created by cross-laminating thin layers of timber, and when cut, these layers reveal a rhythmic, linear “stripe” that perfectly complements your geometric artwork.
Shadow Play: Thicker panels (12mm and 15mm) cast a natural shadow on the wall, giving the art a three-dimensional, sculptural presence.
Visual Weight: As the thickness increases from 3mm to 15mm, these edge layers become a prominent design element.
Industrial Honesty: Leaving the edges raw and visible celebrates the Refined Rawness of the work, showing exactly how the piece was constructed.
Understanding The Ply
The choice of thickness changes the physical and visual “grip” of the piece within a room:
| Thickness | Character & Best Use |
| 3mm | Ultra-Light: Flexible and slender. Best for mounting on smooth surfaces or framing behind glass to protect the grain. |
| 8mm | Minimalist: A sleek profile that feels modern and lightweight. Ideal for the “Mini Combo” grid to keep the wall feeling airy. |
| 12mm | The Signature: Our standard for the series. This depth provides the structural integrity needed for large-scale “Maxi” panels without excessive weight. |
| 15mm | Structural: The most “architectural” choice. The thick, visible ply-layers on the side create a bold, furniture-like quality that stands out from the wall. |
Grain & Pigment Interaction
Because plywood is a natural material, no two panels are identical. Your artwork navigates this “intricate fabric” by allowing the wood’s soul to show through:
Sanded Finish: Each panel is hand-finished to a smooth, tactile surface that invites curiosity and touch.
Porous Absorption: The wood grain “drinks” the pigment, creating a depth of color that a flat canvas cannot replicate.
Natural Variations: Small knots, swirls, and colour shifts in the timber are intentionally preserved, acting as a quiet, stabilizing force against the high-intensity geometry.
The wood tells half the story; the geometry tells the rest. Together, they create a ‘Resting Centre’ for your space.
Care & Maintenance: Preserving Refined Rawness
To ensure your Plywood remains a centerpiece for years to come, it is important to treat the natural timber with care. These panels are a living intersection of organic material and geometric intent, and they respond to their environment.
Environmental Placement
- Avoid Direct Sunlight: Prolonged exposure to harsh UV rays can cause the natural golden tones of the plywood to deepen and may affect the vibrance of high-contrast pigments like the magenta in Inner Hold.
- Climate Stability: Plywood is a cross-laminated material designed for stability, but it is best kept in a consistent indoor climate.
- Humidity Control: Extreme fluctuations in moisture can cause wood fibers to expand or contract; avoid hanging your panels in bathrooms or directly above high-heat sources like radiators.
Cleaning & Surface Care
- Dusting: Use a clean, dry, soft microfiber cloth to gently remove dust from the surface.
- No Liquids: Avoid using water, detergents, or chemical cleaners, as these can penetrate the porous wood grain and disturb the pigment application.
- Handling: When moving or installing your Mini, Mid, or Maxi panels, handle them by the edges to avoid transferring natural oils from your hands onto the sanded artwork surface.
Protecting the Edges
Impact Prevention: Be careful during installation (especially with the 180 cm Master Series) to ensure the corners do not knock against hard surfaces, preserving the crisp, industrial lines of the “Refined Rawness”.
Edge Integrity: The exposed ply-layers are a key architectural feature of the 12mm and 15mm panels.
By respecting the material’s natural origins, you maintain the ‘Still Axis’ of the artwork, allowing the Extraordinary Path of the piece to age beautifully within your home.
